It is said that the Yarrow herb was used by Achilles, the Greek hero of the Trojan War, to help heal the tendon on the back of his injured ankle. Thus, the "achillea" in Yarrow's Latin botanical name. High in Chemazulene, Yarrow shares the effective anti-inflammatory characteristics of Chamomile. Its astringency makes it a good choice for blemishes or oily skin, and for balancing oily skin. It also performs well as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and astringent.
